APART from the excellent food, the thing I like best about the Indian Cottage in Guisborugh is the fact you can ask for things you like to be added or things you don’t like to be taken away.

I love dupiaza but it does not have chick peas in … no problem, they add them for you.  My daughter doesn’t like onions, so we get rice with no onions in – again, no problem.

The restaurant and takeaway is on the Hunters Hill Estate well off the High Street but is well known and liked in the area it is always busy.

You still only have a short wait, however, if you forget to ‘phone in your order; and the staff are always really friendly and often even remember your favourite order.

They have a good selection of starters and main courses ranging from the creamy and mild to the fiery hot and spicy. They also do a selection of tandoori and tikka specialities plus a small selection of English dishes.

The takeaway is open 6pm Monday to Saturday but closed on a Sunday.
